Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

This page explains how information is handled when you visit pierosalardi.com, get in touch or subscribe to updates.

The site is run by Piero Salardi, based in Victoria, BC, Canada. If you have a question about your information, write to hi@pierosalardi.com.

1. No cookies

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. Visits are counted with Jetpack Stats, which records which pages are read without placing cookies in your browser.

Two embedded services, the Vimeo video player and the accessibility tool, may set short security cookies from Cloudflare that protect them from automated traffic. They carry no tracking and expire within hours.

Some features remember things in your own browser, on your device: the accessibility tool keeps your display settings, and the PlayGrnd tools, such as the PS-16, keep your work so it is there when you come back. This stays on your device and is never sent to me. You can clear it anytime in your browser settings.

2. When you get in touch

When you contact me, I receive the details you choose to share, such as your name, email address and information about your project. I use these details to respond, understand what you need and discuss working together.

Messages are delivered to my email through the website’s server, and a copy is kept in the website’s database, hosted by GoDaddy. I keep them while we discuss your project and delete them when you ask.

3. Booking a conversation

If you book a conversation through Google Calendar appointment scheduling, Google processes the details needed to arrange the meeting. You can read more in Google’s Privacy Policy.

4. Newsletter

If you subscribe, I use the information you provide to send the updates you select. Subscriptions are managed through Jetpack Newsletter by Automattic.

You can unsubscribe anytime with the link in each email.

5. Service providers

These companies help run this website and may process limited information on my behalf:

  • GoDaddy: hosts the website and its data
  • Automattic (Jetpack): visit statistics, newsletter, image delivery and security
  • Google: appointment booking
  • Vimeo: embedded videos
  • Wordfence: security firewall

Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States.

6. Your choices

You can contact me to ask about access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, or to withdraw consent. I’ll explain the next steps and any limits that apply to your request.

If you have a concern about how your information is handled, you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

7. Security

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), the Wordfence security firewall, limits on login attempts and a private administrator login address to protect your information.

8. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, I’ll update the date shown at the top of the page.
